52nd Annual Meeting of the Illinois Archaeological Survey
Workshop on Illinois Archaeology
September 19-21, 2008
Collinsville/Edwardsville, Illinois
The 52nd annual
meeting of the Illinois Archaeological Survey and the Workshop on Illinois
Archaeology will be co-hosted by Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site in
Collinsville and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE). Friday’s
events for the public will include a site walking tour, followed by live music
at Cahokia Mounds. Saturday’s events will include paper presentations followed
by the banquet at SIUE. Sunday’s events will include viewing the equinox
sunrise at Woodhenge.

Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site – Interpretive Center

Sunday, September 21
Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site – Woodhenge
6:30 a.m. Equinox sunrise
Note: Parking is always free at Cahokia Mounds, and parking is free on weekends
at SIUE. Ample parking will be available in SIUE Lot B (see
http://www.siue.edu/maps/).
Lodging is available in both Edwardsville and Collinsville; for a listing of
hotels and complete conference information see the IAS web site

Reservations for the entire weekend, including the banquet can be made by
sending a check for $35 made out to IAS to Julie Holt, Department of
Anthropology, Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville, IL 62026-1451. Please
send your reservation by Sept. 2, 2008. If you would like to attend the Friday
and Saturday workshop events but not the banquet, the cost is $10; advance
registration is not required. If you have questions, please direct them to Julie
